About me...
Hi there! I am Hangxi Cai, a 2D animator with a strong interest in character design and experience directing collaborative projects, currently studying animation at Savannah College of Art and Design.
I specialize in digital frame-by-frame drawing and creating storyboards. Drawing and animation are my passions, and I hope to work in storyboard and 2D animation roles someday.
Professional experience
-
I worked on a project to develop new unboxing experiences for three of the company’s games (Multi Game Board, Nok Hockey, Skittles), rebranding them, educating players on the gameplay, and crafting a marketing campaign aimed at the 18-30 demographic.
-
As a storyboard artist and illustrator, I designed the rulebooks and tutorial videos. My process involved researching the company’s history, game rules, watching gameplay videos, and talking to veteran players. For storyboarding, I collaborated with the scriptwriter and director to ensure clear and accurate shot composition for the tutorials. After team discussions, we adopted a retro American comic style to preserve the brand’s legacy while appealing to modern tastes.
-
In two months, I completed the illustrations for all three rulebooks and storyboards for the tutorial videos, advancing the project timeline.

For Deloitte’s AI in Higher Education project, I helped develop a promotional animation. As the concept artist and storyboard artist, I created the color script and storyboards. I gained insights into Deloitte’s AI vision and drew inspiration from tech companies and sci-fi aesthetics, settling on a clean blue-green gradient for the video’s palette. I also provided art direction during production.
-
The project was successfully completed and well-received by Deloitte’s leadership.

-
I contributed to a cultural heritage preservation project, creating a short film on Sichuan opera.
-
I storyboarded the film and handled post-production using After Effects and Premiere.
-
My work helped highlight the cultural significance and history of the local art form.
